Dr. Julian Schuster, Hamline University

Schuster’s areas of expertise are economics and finance, economic methodology, business ethics, international business, marketing, entrepreneurship and leadership. Schuster is the founding dean of the Hamline University School of Business.

Under his leadership a new MBA program, recognized for its uniquely integrated curriculum, was launched.

Vang’s specialties include the U.S. economy and economic-stimulus efforts. He recently addressed a Chamber of Commerce gathering with Art Rolnick of the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis.

An expert on international economies, Krueger studies reforms in Russian industrial enterprises and also has interests in Comparative Economic Systems, including Japan and China, as well as an interest in corporate governance.

Jeanne Boeh, professor and chair, Economics department, Augsburg College

Boeh, who has worked both in the private sector and academia, has a strong understanding of what changes in the economy mean to the general public and she has the ability to express that in an understandable way. Her research and teaching interests are applied microeconomics focusing on the fields of urban and health economics.

Louis Johnston, Associate Professor of Economics, College of Saint Benedict/Saint John’s University

Johnston is a regular commentator on MPR and has been interviewed by national newspapers. A macroeconomist and economic historian, he focuses on the growth and development of the Minnesota economy. He's currently investigating the upswing in business for small repair shops and working on a fourth edition of Principles of Economics by Robert Frank and Ben Bernanke.

Mark Kanazawa, Professor of Economics, Carleton College

Kanazawa can speak to water economics and in particular water rights in California. Some western states have begun to discuss how rapid development is affecting water usage and rights and how prior to now water managers, developers and government agencies have had little interaction in this area.
